Chapter Twenty
Kyra
I was so happy once the plane landed, I couldnât wait to get off it but Dad had us wait until most of the passengers had got off the plane before we left our seats. Looking over at Beth I could see she was just as happy to be getting off as I was. It was my first time on a plane; I didnât mind the flying part, but the taking off and landing I didnât like. Beth and I both held on to Dadâs hands, I know my knuckles were white, I was holding on that tight. Beth had pissed me off during the flight mentioning about my call from Ben. I know part of it was because she wanted Dad to know what he had said to me but he said something to me that I never told either Dad or Beth. I never knew the man could be so nasty and vindictive, I had never done anything to him or so I thought but the fact that he threatened to hurt me scared me and I put the phone down. I know I should have maybe said something to Dad, but I knew it was for the best that I didnât. I might say something to Jade. I knew that Dad was upset with regards to the phone call; I could see how angry he was about it.
Once we were off the plane and cleared customs, we walked over to where we get our cases from, thatâs where Uncle Michael found us. He had a porter with him, with a trolley to put all of our cases on. We didnât have to wait long for them. As we were walking towards the doors, I could see Uncle Shaun outside, I was hoping he would have Kelly with him but I couldnât see her. I started to walk faster; Dad got a hold of my arm, explaining that we had to stay with him as this airport was far busier than the one in Edinburgh. We all walked out of the airport doors together, thatâs when Uncle Shaun opened the door to the SUV he was standing in front of and Kelly jumped out, she ran straight to me, she was so excited, she was barking and jumping, in the end I knelt down and opened my arms, she ran straight into them and put her head on my shoulder, while I was giving her a big fuss, I wasnât paying attention to anything going on around me. After five minutes, Dad told me to get in the SUV. I stood up and noticed that Beth was already in along with Uncle Shaun, I climbed in and Kelly jumped up after me, Dad shut my door and then walked around to the passenger side and got in. Looking around I noticed that Uncle Michael wasnât in with us, when I looked out of the back window, I see him in a van behind us with another man.
